Experience the uplifting power of community singing. Join us our warmly supportive circle to experience singing as self-care. We sing heart-opening songs from the oral singing tradition. You don't need to be an experienced singer to join us, nor do you need to know how to read music. (Shy singers, shower singers, steering-wheel tappers, school chorus alumni, are welcome!) All songs are taught by ear. Find out how good it can feel to let go and sing!
Weather permitting, we'll meet outdoors in a beautiful garden, so please bring layers and sun hats.
WHEN: Sunday, May 19th, 2024, 11:45 AM - 1:15 PM
WHERE: Private Residence in Oakland, Temescal Neighborhood. (You'll get the address when you register.)
WHO IT'S FOR: We welcome women and nonbinary folks. This space is trans affirming. (Children of all genders are also welcome - just bring along a quiet activity for them to do in case they don't want to join in singing with the grown ups.)
COVID SAFETY: We'll sing outside with plenty of space to position yourself as you see fit. Masks are not required. If you've had a known COVID exposure, we ask that you take a COVID test the day of the event before joining us.
