Join us this fall for Sanctuary of Song, our vibrant in person community chorus! It's masked, outdoors and safe.
We meet weekly to sing heart opening songs in community. Songs that are so beautiful, you won't believe how easy they are to learn.
You don't need to be an experienced singer to join us. Our group welcomes singers at all levels of comfort and ability. You also don't need to be able to read music - songs are taught the old fashioned way, by ear.
The theme of our season is "Opening the Heart." We will start out each meeting with a poem, read aloud. (Poets like Rumi, Mary Oliver, Linda Hogan, and more.) We'll then spend most of our meeting delving into songs and practices for opening the voice - and the heart.
WHO IT'S FOR: Open to all vaccinated persons. We sing for Mother Earth, and welcome all persons who feel a resonance with the rising of Earth wisdom in these times. LGTBQIA+ and BIPOC folks warmly welcome. This space is trans affirming.
(If you are unable to join us for the in person season due to vaccination status, location, or for any other reason, please check out our Zoom cohort, coming soon!)
WHEN: October 3rd - January 16th - Sundays afternoons from 3:30 - 5PM
With one additional meeting on Friday, January 14th, from 5 - 7 PM
EXCEPTIONS: We will NOT meet:
Sunday, October 31st (Halloween / Samhain)
Sunday, November 28th (Thanksgiving weekend)
WHERE: We'll sing in the beautiful garden of Noe's home in Pacifica, California. The neighborhood is Sharp Park, which is just a ten to fifteen minute drive from San Francisco's southern neighborhoods. (You'll get the address in the downloadable pdf you'll receive with purchase.)
Our season closes with the opportunity to share our songs with beloved family and friends at our final celebration. This gathering will be held picnic style in a meadow large enough to allow social distancing. (Location TBA.)
All persons attending this gathering attest that we are fully vaccinated for COVID-19, that we will follow all precautions, and that we attend at our own risk. (You will be asked to sign a waiver, which will be provided with registration. Thank you for taking the time to do this!)
In the event that environmental conditions prohibit meeting outdoors, we'll meet online, instead.
Singing friendly masks will be provided. These masks keep the fabric away from your face for more comfortable singing.
As an additional precaution, the day before each gathering, I'll email you a health screening questionnaire, to ensure that we're all healthy and well and that there has been no possible recent COVID exposure. If at that point you’ve had any COVID exposure or possible symptoms, you may choose to make up the meeting online instead.
Cost works out to approximately $20 per ninety minute gathering, plus a little extra for permits (final venue) and materials.
If you join us midway through the season, this cost will be prorated based on when you join us. (We will deduct $20 per already elapsed meeting.)
Take advantage of our early bird discount when you register by October 1st!
